Plus Size Workout Clothes
Plus size workout clothes are often difficult to find, but they are absolutely out there. Making sure you have the right type of workout clothes that will help you look and feel great is an important part of exercising. If you’re looking for great plus size clothes for your workout, you have many options from several different companies.
Lane Bryant
Lane Bryant is a retailer that specializes in plus size clothing, with sizes ranging from 14 to 28. The store has a wide variety of plus size activewear in those sizes. They offer leggings, capris, yoga pants, jackets, sweatshirts, tank tops and t-shirts for working out. They also have several options for sports bras and a wide variety of stylish, full coverage swimsuits if you plan to get your exercise by swimming. Prices typically range from $30 to $50 depending on what you’re looking for.
Nike
Nike is a great place to get athletic apparel in all sizes, including plus sizes up to 3x. While their selection is limited, they do have some great shorts and t-shirts in what they call “extended sizes.” Nike’s prices are typically between $20 and $40.
Old Navy
While Old Navy does not sell plus size clothing in their stores, their website has a line of plus size workout clothes with sizes from 18 to 30. They offer a wide variety of shorts, leggings, yoga pants, t-shirts, tank tops and more with different style and color options for you to choose from. They also offer plus size sports bras and a limited amount of swimwear. Old Navy is on the lower end of athletic wear in terms of price with each item costing between $15 and $30, but it also means that their clothes are not always as well made.
Champion
Champion is another great place to look for plus size workout clothes. The store specializes in workout clothes for all sizes and has a large plus size section. The store doesn’t seem to have a lot of pants, but they do have shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and sports bras in different styles and colors
Danskin
Danskin is another active wear company with a line of plus size clothes. They don’t have a very big selection for plus size customers, but they have a few items that go up to size 4x. They have a good selection of sports bras as well as some capris and jackets. Prices are generally between $20 and $40 per item of clothing.
Just My Size
With the largest size range of the stores mentioned, Just My Size, offers workout clothes from14 to 40. They offer a wide range of tops, bottoms, fleeces, sports bras, and swimwear in different colors and styles. Prices range from $20 to $40.
Where to Buy
Many stores have a very limited selection of plus size clothes at the actual store but have a much larger selection online. While many people prefer not to buy clothes online, clothing stores will usually allow you to return clothes easily and with no questions asked if the clothes arrive and are not what you’re looking for. You can check sporting goods stores like Sports Authority or Dick’s Sporting Goods if you want to buy in person, but they will probably not have a lot of options. Amazon.com and Overstock.com also have a wide variety of plus size workout clothes and the prices tend to be lower than in an actual store.
In some cases, your options for plus size workout clothes are limited, but if you are willing to go online or spend some time looking around, you can find some great options. Many active wear companies make plus size clothes and many plus size retailers have active wear sections that allow you to find comfortable and stylish workout clothes.
